Agent Chains

Agent Chains involve agents invoking other agents to complete tasks. An orchestrator agent coordinates specialist agents that perform specific functions.

Architecture diagram

Agent A (Orchestrator) ---> Agent B (Specialist) ---> Agent C (Executor)

The orchestrator decomposes tasks and delegates to specialists. Each agent in the chain may have different capabilities and permissions.

Characteristics

Agent Chains enable complex task decomposition and specialization. Permission delegation across the chain creates risk of privilege accumulation. Traceability becomes challenging when multiple agents collaborate.

Required certification profile

Agent Chain deployments require Critical profile certification. The complexity of permission delegation and multi-agent coordination demands comprehensive controls.
